Customers Say ‘Freddies Corner Has Become A Rogue Business’ | Don’t Buy From Them Or Ever Take Your Gadget to Them for Repairs Or Else

From the below account by a woman who received an appalling service from the over hyped and much advertised-Freddies Corner, plus the many comments of customers who have one way or the other experienced extreme dissatisfying and sometimes scamming service from the outlet, it does seem to us that Freddies Corner has gone rogue.

And therefore, if you don’t like to take unnecessary risk with your money or electrical gadgets, stay away from them as far as you can—unless, they decide to change.

Read Ms Nana’s account & check out the appalling experience of several others too…

Hello Chris-Vincent,

I am truly appreciative of the initiative that you have started. Its about time we put our corporate institutions to the sword and hold them accountable for their actions and if possible make their brands less attractive and compel them to change for the better or lose customers.

My unfortunate experience came at the hands of Freddies Corner. I thought they were a credible bunch considering that they had a lot of adverts running on the various radio and television stations. That thought has since been debunked and I now consider Freddies corner a hub of thievery and I am trying hard to get people to see them for what they really are: con artists and thieves.

What is the difference between successful and unsuccessful companies? More often than not, it usually comes down to the smallest and most basic things. The successful companies create important core values and abide by them. All employees and members of these companies abide by these core values and do their best to live by them.

Does this mean that, unsuccessful businesses and companies do not have core values? Some do and others don’t. Those that do are not able to abide by them entirely.

How many times have we not heard of companies that started well and once they grew big enough, failed miserably? Sometimes, it is usually as a result of these companies not following and improving on the values that got them there in the first place.

In modern times, customer service and satisfaction are fundamental values that companies pay attention to. The big entities such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and Dell, amongst others, make customer service and customer satisfaction a key priority in their business models. They know that without the customers, there is no business and if there is no business, then there are no revenues then they might as well shut down because they will not be able to cover their costs.

You have a point but the companies you have mentioned are not based in Ghana. It is true that these companies are not in Ghana but the concept is real and true and has worked for many institutions in the country.

UT Bank, Compu-Ghana, Enterprise Life Assurance are just a few that readily come to mind when it comes to making the customer the priority.

The head of UT Bank at some point put his number on display in the bank so that customers would call him directly if they had poor customer service and this worked even till today because now UT Bank is synonymous with
great customer service and satisfaction.

At this point you would think that many businesses will take a cue from some of these successful institutions but apparently they are not. One such company is Freddies Corner. They are known to sell electronic gadgets and devices such as phones and laptops amongst others.

There are people that go to them and like their service and there are those who go there and wish they had never met them. There are numerous stories of people who have bought fake and faulty gadgets from these dealers and whenever they tried to return them for a replacement or refund, they were met with disappointment.

Speak to people who have ever bought gadgets or had gadgets repaired at Freddies corner and the negative remarks you will hear might overwhelm you.

I recently had a phone sent to Freddies Corner, for the charging port to be fixed and my phone was returned in even worse condition than before. I had it sent back and that is when the frustrations started. They will tell you to come tomorrow and when you do, they would tell you to come back in five days then add another set of days and this continued till I asked them to replace the phone since they had broken it and that was when the real tug of war begun.

They insisted that, they did not break the phone so they would not replace it and the best they could do was “try” to repair it. This phone in question was a brand new phone that had been in use for less than six months and the only problem it had was a charging port but now, the phone is no longer functional.

The screen is off and no longer works.

This is just my story and there are countless other stories of people who have had worse experiences than I did. I was annoyed, angry even, that I had to spend money to fix a phone that they broke but I was even more annoyed by the fact that, this is something that they do most of the time. I have included a few screenshots of the reviews they have had on Facebook.

I decided to look for them on facebook and blast them but when I got to the review section I realized that this was something they were doing and that my case wasn’t a one-off incident. In fact, my experience is much better than others. I decided to talk to people around me who had ever used their service and I was amazed at the number of negative comments and reactions that they expressed.

Based on those comments, I decided to write an article and circulate to as many people as I could reach and let them know what is going on in Freddies Corner and why they should never ever buy from there or have things fixed from there.

I took screenshots of the reviews on facebook and put it in my article. I had the names redacted because, I haven’t sought permission from those who did the review to put up their names but in case you want to see them, go to the review section of Freddies Corner facebook page and you will see them all.

These are just the ones that are in the full glare of the public. I for one had the opportunity to speak to many others who have been through similar experience with Freddies Corner and every time you hear then speak, you can feel the frustration and sometimes even the anger they have towards these dealers.

I can draw conclusions that, customer service and satisfaction is not part of values of Freddies Corner and that is even assuming they have values.

Below are some of the comments in their review section on Facebook.

Response from Freddie’s Corner to ‘CustomerDiscuss.Com’ team

We are waiting to see if they will have anything reasonable to say to this…

About CustomerDiscuss.Com:

Customer service in Ghana and most parts of Africa is the crappiest we’ve ever come across; as if Ghanaians or Africans use mango leaves to pay for services. The broadband never works, the electricity is never on, the water never flows—and the waitress can keep you waiting for your food until hunger kills your buds.

The real pain is, you have no alternative to turn to—because, like a gang of fools, they are all the same.

Almost every service and product delivering company in Africa has it butt in the faces of customers, farting uncontrollably because the customer cannot really do anything.  Mostly, if you quietly complain, they do nothing and if you are unlucky, they tell you to go f**k off.

Consumers have no voice, not even individual voices—let alone a collective one to force any sort of change.

So we’ve started this website-CustomerDiscuss.Com[8], supported by GhanaCelebrities.Com[9] and other platforms, dedicated to corporate and public Africa, especially Ghana—-it’s time we shame some of these companies, tear down their lousy services, help them to lose customers and force them to do what’s right.

If you have a complaint about your telecom company, internet provider, a restaurant, your bank or even your church, shoot an email to us via; [email protected] or call/whatsapp 00447961817712.

When you go to a restaurant and you are served in a broken plate or on a dirty table, just take some photos and send them to us with the needed details.

Together, we can get these people to be accountable and importantly, do what’s expected of them.
